What's the maximum file size?

Why do GIF edges look jagged or have a white halo?
GIF supports only 1-bit transparency: a pixel is fully opaque or fully transparent, with no soft edge. If the original was flattened on white, stray light pixels form a halo. Use the Matte option to match where the GIF will be placed, tighten the edge with Shrink, or export as WebP/APNG for smooth alpha.
